Joe Turner
Joe P. Turner, 87, of Russell, Kentucky, formerly of Greenup, Kentucky passed away Saturday November 15, 2014 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, KY following a brief illness.
Mr. Turner was born on December 20, 1926 on the family farm at Salt Lick near Hueysville in Floyd County, Kentucky to the late Green and Dora Turner.
He was a SGT in the US Army during WWII serving in the South Pacific and while serving in the Army Reserves in 1950 was called to active duty again in Korea.
He was retired from Dupont, Ametek, and CXS Railroad.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Greenup.
He was a member of the Greenup Masonic Lodge.
Earlier in life he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Later in life he found great joy in seeing and playing with his great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Pastor Jack Edwards and Pastor Jim Byrd.
Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens, Flatwoods, Kentucky.
Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday and one hour before the service on Wednesday.
