Hannah Elam
Hannah Elam, 81, of Lexington, Kentucky, formerly of West Liberty, Kentucky departed this life, Thursday, December 18, 2014 in Hospice of the Bluegrass Care Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
Mrs. Elam was born May 29, 1933 in Raceland, Kentucky a daughter of the late Edward Simon and Cynthia Bentley Truitt.
In 1952, she graduated from the Western Union School in Crawfordsville, Indiana and operated Tie Lines in Portsmouth, Ohio, Ashland, KY and Kingsport, TN. She was present backstage during the Dwight D. Eisenhowers speech at the Memorial Coliseum in Lexington, KY while working to file reporters stories. She was a longtime resident of West Liberty, KY where she helped operate Elam Chevrolet, Inc. with her husband. She was a past president of the Morgan County Womens Club and past member of the Eastern Star.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Monday, December 22, 2014 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Bro. Mark Campbell and Bro. Gary Allen. Burial will be in the Quillen Cemetery, Lynn, Kentucky. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home.
