Joy Akers, 78, of Ashland, Kentucky passed away February 15, 2016 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

Mrs. Akers was born March 3, 1937 in Magoffin County, Kentucky a daughter of the late John and Mary Puckett Bailey.

Joy loved her children and family unconditionally

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Eldid Akers

17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and a slew of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm February 18, 2016 at South Side Church of The Nazarene in Catlettsburg, Kentucky by Pastor Jim Webster. Burial will be in Caroline Cemetery in Raceland, Kentucky.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until funeral time on Thursday.
