Joseph “J.D.” Derring Wolfe, 91, of Greenup, Kentucky went to be with the Lord, Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

Mr. Wolfe was born March 5, 1924 in Greenup County, Kentucky a son of the late Follett and Flora Miller Wolfe.

“J.D.” was a life long member (88Years) of Brushart Christian Freewill Baptist Church, Leatherwood Road, Greenup.

He was a United States WWII Army Veteran in which he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a retired Carmen from the C&O railroad in Raceland, Kentucky.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by

his wife Ethel Smith Wolfe who passed away February 16, 2013; 1 sister, Mabel Madden; 1 sister -in-law, Minnie Smith Wolfe

He is survived by 1 son Joe and Emmy Wolfe of Catlettsburg, Kentucky

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Bro. Bill Oaks. Burial will be in the Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd. Military rites will be performed by James Dickey American Legion Post 23, Portsmouth, Ohio.

Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Monday and one hour before the funeral on Tuesday at the funeral home.
