Shirley Barnhart

Shirley Barnhart, 75, of Lloyd, KY, died Saturday April 30, 2016 at Gaslight Village Assisted Living in Adrian, MI. Shirley was born August 21, 1940 in Worthington, KY a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Griffith) Sizemore. Shirley in her early years worked at the family restaurant in Greenup, KY and then went on to become a beautician where she owned her own beauty shop in Greenup. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Worthington and a former Eastern Star and received her 25 year pendant. On February 27, 1971 she married Ray Barnhart and he preceded her in death in 1994.

John and Michelle Barnhart of Tecumseh, Michigan

Charles and Connie Barnhart of Deerfield, Michigan

Stephen Barnhart of Livonia, Michigan

One daughter

Sandra and John LaVoy of Palmyra, Michigan

One sister

Verna Logan of Norfolk, Virginia

Eleven grandchildren

Owen and Chase Barnhart, Travis and Cote LaVoy, Amy Baugher, Tim, Lisa and Lori Barnhart and Deanna Weiss, Amanda Frederick and Tammy Miller

Eighteen great-grandchildren along with her sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and several close friends.

Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two daughters, Sheryl Donbrosky and Sheila Barnhart; four brothers, Harold Sizemore, Estill “Stokes” Sizemore, Harry F. Sizemore and John “Buck” Sizemore.

Funeral services for Shirley will be held at 11:00 am Friday, May 6, 2016 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6-9pm and one hour before the service at the funeral home. There will also be an additional funeral held on Wednesday at 7pm at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Home with visitation from 4 until time of the service. Burial will take place at Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd, Kentucky.
