George Preston Baker
George Preston “Pres” Baker, 90, of Greenup, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016, in his hometown of Greenup, Kentucky.
Pres was born November, 4, 1925 in Greenup, Kentucky a son of the late Clyde and Pearl Hale Baker.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II as a coxswain. He married the former Betsy Alice Miller on June 6, 1944, and they spent 58 happy years together before she preceded him in death. He was one of the founders of the Greenup Little League baseball program, and volunteered many hours to youth sports and his church. He loved gardening, his grandchildren, and helping other people in the community. He continued to garden well into his 80’s. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 9, 2016, at the Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd, Kentucky by David Stultz.
Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society or The Kawasaki Disease Foundation.
