Clarice Norman
Clarice Y. Norman, 94, of Greenup, Kentucky died Wednesday, April 26, 2017.
She was born September 9, 1922 in Frost, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ernest Eugene and Almeda Barnhart Linton.
Clarice was a legal secretary, having worked for W. Terry McBrayer, Greenup, Kentucky, Grey, Woods and Cooper, Ashland, Kentucky and Ilardo, Ilardo and Sheedy, Hamburg, New York. She retired from Houston Natural Gas Corporation, Houston, Texas in 1980 as an Executive Secretary.
She was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Greenup Christian Church. She loved her family, being a homemaker and gardening, especially roses.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her faithful, loving husband of 73 years, George Everett Norman of Greenup, Kentucky; five brothers, Evan (Helen), Earl (Nellie) and Bernard (Lois) Linton, all of Athens, Ohio, Forest (Virgene) Linton of Coolville, Ohio and Robert (Ruth) Linton of Wilmington, North Carolina. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Fern Secoy (George) of Perrysville, Ohio and Lillian Dye (Paul) of Boise, Idaho, and one grandson, David Everett Norman of Russell, Kentucky.
Clarice is survived by her sister, Janice McGee of Athens, Ohio; a daughter, Judith E. Sharp, of Louisville, Kentucky; two sons, John D. Norman (Jody), of Russell, Kentucky and Michael R. Norman (Sujata), of Albertville, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Lisa Campbell (Sid), Lori Bradford (David), Donald Sharp Jr and Philip Sharp (Charlsie), all of Louisville, Kentucky; Jessie Boggs (Kenny), of Harrisburg, North Carolina; John E. Norman (Alecia), of Lexington, Kentucky; Trent Norman (Julia), of Cincinnati, Ohio; Julie Miller (Thomas), of Lexington, Kentucky; fourteen great grandchildren, Taylor Johnson (Bobby), Krissi Crain (Jonathan), Trey Campbell, Lindsey Sharp, Sophia and Stella Sharp, all of Louisville, Kentucky; Cameron and Connor Boggs of Harrisburg, North Carolina; Tanner Norman of Cincinnati, Ohio; Lottie and CeCe Hubbard and Harold Everett Norman of Lexington, Kentucky; Lyla and Finley Miller of Lexington, Kentucky; three great great grandchildren, Peyton Thompson of Louisville, Kentucky, and RJ and Clarice Johnson of Roseville, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Pastor Mike Dennis. Burial will be at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens, Flatwoods, Kentucky.
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017 and one hour before the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Greenup Christian Church Building Fund.
