Frances Howard
Frances Howard, 79, of Wurtland, Kentucky gained her wings Friday June 2, 2017 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Howard was born January 26, 1938 in Load, Kentucky a daughter of the late Henry Lewis Darnell and Effie Mae Corns Darnell Adams Burton.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Winfield Scott Howard, one daughter Reta Howard Sipple, two brothers Dennis Darnell and Freddie Adams, and one great grandson Tucker Troyer.
She was a member of The Abundant Life Apostolic Church in Raceland, Kentucky as well as a former member of The Apostolic Church of Big White Oak. Fran was known as a hard worker and leader in the church, she led the Ten Commandments Campaign to keep the commandments in public places in the community. She was a secretary for Judge Dick Ousley, the former Judge Executive, a clerk for Sonny Davidson’s office, former County Clerk, and a member of The Democratic Women’s Club. She was honored as a Kentucky Colonial. Over the years she was a foster parent to several children whom she was a granny to and loved dearly. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and a great witness for the Lord.

Thelma Hern of Ashland, Kentucky
Sixteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Monday June 5, 2017 at The Apostolic Church of Big White Oak in York, Kentucky by Rev. Anthony Keeton, Rev. Randall Kelley, and Rev. Shaun Howard. Burial will be in Howard Cemetery in York, Kentucky.
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 9:00 on Sunday at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky and from 10:00 until service time on Monday at the church.
