Virgil Cordle

Virgil Cordle, 72, of Argillite, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Monday February 5, 2018 at Cornerstone Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia surrounded by his family.

Mr. Cordle was born January 28, 1946 in Flatwoods, Kentucky a son of the late James and Nellie Wilburn Cordle.

He was a United States Vietnam Army Veteran, trained all kinds of different horses, Kentucky Colonel, and Quarter Master VFW Post #1168 from 2006-2012 in Greenup, Kentucky.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Ted Cordle and Richard Cordle; and four sisters Okie Metz, Viola Pruitt, Martha Fortune, and Shirley Stanley.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Nella Karen Kemper Cordle

Bill (Ruby) Cordle of Muncy, Indiana

Paul (Betty) Cordle of Anderson, Indiana

Irelynn Cordle, David Alex (Morgan) Knipp, Jessica Clark, Allison Clark, and Christian Knipp

Several nieces and nephews

Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday February 9, 2018 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky. Burial will be in O’Bryan Cemetery in Russell, Kentucky.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday and one hour before the service on Friday.
