Norma Lee Shoun Archey

Norma Lee Shoun Archey, 93, of Greenup, Kentucky went to be with the Lord, Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

Norma was born February 15, 1925 in Somerset, Kentucky a daughter of the late Earl Romulous and Stella Ping Shoun.

She always brought a bright light to any room as the matriarch of her family. She spent her early adulthood supporting the war effort working as an airplane riveter and in an ammunition’s factory.

She loved music, camping, traveling, rock and turtle collecting. She loved spending time around her Ohio river home. We will always be able to hear her say “Woo Hoo Mountain Dew” and “See you later alligator” She was known by many by her nickname “Moonshine”

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years Gene Thurman Archey; one son Gene Earl Archey; one granddaughter Amy Archey Cron; and one brother Charles R. Shoun.

She is survived by

Mendy Archey of Ashland, Kentucky

William P. (Donna) Shoun of Tulsa, Oklahoma

one daughter-in-law Cricket Archey of Greenup, Kentucky

five grandchildren Jason, Mac, Katie, Kami, and Alexia

seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson
