Rev. Glenn Ray Newsome

Rev. Glenn Ray Newsome, 76, of South Shore, Kentucky went “Home” Friday, January 11, 2019 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Mr. Newsome was born February 28, 1942 in Warnock, Kentucky a son of the late Leslie and Stella Hall Newsome. He was retired from Dupont Chemicals in Wurtland, Kentucky. He loved to operate heavy equipment and do landscaping. He had pastored several churches in the area and was an honorary pastor at Serenity Baptist Church in South Shore. He was owner and operator with his wife Rachel of Serenity Acres in South Shore.

He was preceded in death by three brothers Harold Newsome, Leslie Newsome Jr., and Don Newsome; and one sister Edith Lyons.

He is survived by

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Serenity Baptist Church, Beechy Road in South Shore, Kentucky by Dr. Tom Melvin and Pastor John Reed. Burial will be in the Newsome Cemetery, Beechy Road, South Shore, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00pm on Monday at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup and one hour before the service at the Serenity Baptist Church in South Shore on Tuesday.
