Frank E. Veach Sr.

Frank E. Veach Sr., 81 of Troy, Ohio, formerly of Greenup, Kentucky went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Frank was born September 1, 1937 in Greenup, Kentucky a son of the late Frances M. and Louise Waring Howland Veach. Frank was a carpenter and welder for over 40 years having worked most of his career with Hines Builders. He also served his country through the United States Army as a classified specialist 4th class. He was an expert shot with carbine and M211 assault rifles. He loved being outdoors resulting in his beautiful yard, flowers and garden. He had the greenest thumb around and was always sharing his produce. He was a member of the Troy Baptist Temple Church for 44 years. He drove a Sunday school bus for the church for several years in his younger years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sweetheart and wife of 54 years, Marian “Tunnie” Womack Veach in January of 2016. He also was preceded in death by one daughter Patricia “Patty” Phillips; one son Robert “Bob” Porter; Two son-in-law James Brown and Doug Stephens; and one brother, former Greenup Mayor Charles Veach. He is survived by two sons Frank (Connie) Veach Jr. of Casstown, Ohio and William ”Bill” Veach of Troy, Ohio; two daughters, Brenda Porter Brown of Troy, Ohio and Anne Stephens Greenup, Kentucky; one son-in-law David C. Phillips of Greenup, Kentucky; one daughter-in-law Judi Porter of Huntsville, Alabama. Fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Of the these grandchildren Frank would like to specially mention Holly Veach Snyder and her two children Sofia Snyder and Jack E. “BamBam”Snyder, Cody Veach and Carla Tolliver. Frank was the second of five children he is also survived by two sisters Mildred Enyart Scarborough and Anna Veach McCaleb both of Worthington, Kentucky; one brother Harold Raymond Veach of Wurtland, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews. Frank also leaves behind his neighbor and best friend Kathy Lutz and her dog “Pepper”. He greatly enjoyed those morning coffee visits.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Bro. Wayne Stephenson. Burial will be in the Womack Family Cemetery in Greenup. Military rites will be preformed by Marine League Corps Greenbo Detachment # 1345. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
