Bruce Sumpter

Bruce L. Sumpter, 44, of Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth. Bruce was born June 22, 1974 in Georgetown, Ohio a son of Cynthia (Mason) Jacobson of Hillsboro, Kentucky and the late Leroy Sumpter.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his best friend Philip Artressia.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his fiancé Kayla Artressia; son Blake Sumpter; one step daughter Adrianna Montgomery; one step son Philip McCormick; two brothers Dewey Sumpter of Peebles, Ohio and Issac Sumpter of Hillsboro, Ohio; four sisters Donniea Sumpter of Portsmouth, Ohio, Genia Sumpter of Peebles, Ohio, Angela Walston Monticello, Kentucky, and Kimberly Burnett of Monticello, Kentucky; four nieces Sara Nesbitt, Kaylie Young, Erica Artressia, and Madison Sumpter; and several other nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm on Monday June 3, 2019 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky. Graveside service will be held at Caroline Cemetery in Raceland, Kentucky immediately following the visitation.
