Kelly Alton Scaggs

Kelly Alton Scaggs, 76, of Greenup, Kentucky went to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at his home.

Kelly was born April 11, 1943 in Greenup, Kentucky a son of the late Andrew L. and Lula Mae Carter Scaggs.

He was retired from AKSteel in Ashland. Kelly also farmed most of his life. He raised and showed dairy cattle for many years. He enjoyed riding and handling horses.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Thelma Jo Stone Scaggs.

He is survived by four sons Kriss (Sarah) Scaggs , Kevin (Cathy) Scaggs, Kermit (Diana) Scaggs and Keith Arnold (Hollie) Scaggs all of Greenup, Kentucky; two daughters Kelly Boyles of Maloneton, Kentucky and Karen (Bill) Dickens of Greenup, Kentucky ; two brothers Gary (Wilma) Scaggs of Greenup, Kentucky and Donald (Rita) Scaggs of Raceland, Kentucky; fifteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Monday, December 16, 2019 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Dr. Tim Jayne. Burial will be in the Scaggs Family Cemetery in Greenup.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Sunday and one hour before the service on Monday at the funeral home.
