Charles H. Jenkins Sr.

Charles Herbert Jenkins Sr., 81, of Lloyd, Kentucky went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, March 16, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

Charles was born June 3, 1938 in Naples, Kentucky a son of the late Henry and Maudie Montgomery Jenkins.

He was a retired Mechanic with General Ready Mix. He attended Lloyd Community Baptist Church, but above all he was a Christian.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Violet Joanne Hall Jenkins; five brothers Harold Jenkins, Hayden Jenkins, Hager Jenkins, William H. Jenkins and John Jenkins; two sisters Hazel White and Evelyn Kehrer.

He is survived by one son Charles “Bo” Jenkins Jr. of Lloyd, Kentucky; four daughters Joanna Ruth (Jack) Thornton of Ludowici, Georgia, Charlotte Gay (Jeff) Harris of Fleming County, Kentucky, Monica (Randy) Lawless of Lloyd, Kentucky and Melissa Jenkins of Ludowici, Georgia’ one brother Carl Ray (Lois Ann) Jenkins of Stout. Ohio; one sister Oma Colvin Moore of Franklin Furnace, Ohio

Thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Rev. Jack Thornton and Bro. Harley Sexton. Burial will be in the Stone-Jenkins Cemetery in Greenup.
