Billie Dove Adkins

Billie Dove Adkins, 91, of Greenup, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

Billie was born March 9, 1929 in Stone, Kentucky a daughter of the late Andrew and Dorothy Kinser Newman. She was a cook, cashier and waitress at the former Russell YMCA, a former Greenup Jaycee, former member of the Greenup Ladies Auxiliary and former member of the Greenup Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Adkins; one son Grover Adkins; two brothers Warren Newman and Charles Newman; two sisters Juanita Howard and Betty Jo Clutter.

She is survived by two daughters Connie (Pete) Martin of Lloyd Kentucky and Trine (Earl) Kirk of Greenup, Kentucky; one daughter in law Vicky Adkins of Lloyd, Kentucky’ one sister in law Lodeen Adkins of Sidney, Ohio; six grandchildren Melinda White, Terra Adkins, Amie Rhoden, Kristi (Bill) Kohm, Brent (Jennifer) Martin and Jeff (Amanda) Martin; eight great grandchildren Hannah Kohm, Hadley Kohm, Brynn Martin, Jett Martin, Reese Martin, Camron White, Mekynna White and Paige Martin.

There will be a private burial at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East Cemetery. Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.com
