Steven Mark Forbes

Steven Mark Forbes, 52, of Greenup, Kentucky went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, May 25, 2020 at King’s Daughters’ Medical Center. Mark was born December 30, 1967 in Ashland, Kentucky a son of the Dorothy Martin Forbes of Argillite, Kentucky and the late Glen “Frankie” Forbes.

He was a shipper for the past 32 years with Pregis in Wurtland, Kentucky and a 1985 graduate of Greenup County High School. Mark was a former pastor for several years at the Hunnewell United Baptist Church. He loved to fish, trap and hunt. His family called him the modern-day mountain man. Mark loved the Lord and would sit on his porch in the mornings reading his devotions. He loved life and his family greatly.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a special friend Morris Jenkins.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of 30 years Shari Sammons Forbes; his son Steven Nathan Forbes of Greenup; his brother Barry (Kim) Forbes Argillite; three sisters Lori (Brian) Baier of Argillite, Beth (J. R.) Clifton of Ashland and Reva (Todd) Rutledge of Argillite; several niece, nephews and friends that loved him and will miss him greatly.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday May 30, 2020 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Bro. Danny Brown. Burial will be in the Forbes Family Cemetery in Argillite. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Friday.
