Carol Sue Hieneman

Carol Sue Hieneman, 83, formerly of Greenup, KY, passed away on July 9, 2020, from Alzheimer’s disease. She was born to the late James and Minnie Sue Carlon on June 5, 1937, in Ashland, KY. Carol Sue graduated from Holy Family High School in Ashland, in 1955. She was a retired employee of Stultz Pharmacy in Greenup, and of Campbellsville Child Development Center in Campbellsville. Carol is survived by two beloved children: Jonathan (Ramona) Hieneman of Campbellsville and Susan Hieneman of Lexington. She is also survived by four treasured grandchildren: Kathryn (Jordan) Hieneman Goode of Campbellsville, Abigail Hieneman of Lexington, Jasmine (Eli) Hershberger of Columbus, OH, Bella Lavitchka of Columbus, OH. Two great-grandchildren also survive: James Patrick Goode and William Augustine Goode, both of Campbellsville. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Lucille Carlon Norris. Carol was immensely proud of her family and enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports, perform in plays, band competitions and church activities. She was an outstanding cook and baker. Carol was an avid supporter of the University of Kentucky Basketball team and loved to attend games at Rupp Arena. She carried herself with a quiet dignity and humility that was both rare and precious. She always had a smile for everyone and loved children and animals. Carol professed faith in Christ and loved her church families in Greenup and Campbellsville.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 12, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup. The burial will be a private service. The family requests donations to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America at alzfdn.org in lieu of flowers. Condolences may be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.com.
