Argel "Al" Lewis

Argel “Al” Dean Lewis, 89, of Argillite, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

Argel was born May 17, 1933, in Grantsville, West Virginia, a son of the late Hallie Lewis Holbert.

He was a 1950 graduate of Calhoun High School and was retired from the Corp. of Engineers in Huntington, West Virginia. He was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church in Ashland, Kentucky and was a United States Army Veteran.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Janette McCarty Lewis; a stepdaughter Rachel (D.D.) Gullett; a stepson Rick Smith of Ashland, Kentucky: three step grandchildren Noah Gullett, Ira Gullett, and Bethany Gullett.

Funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 pm Monday, May 8, 2023, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Pastor Tom Leach. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East, Greenup County, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home.
