Barbara Gay Poplin Gallion
Barbara Gay Poplin Gallion, 81, Greenup, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, April 5, 2024, at King’s Daughters’ Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky surrounded by her loving family.
Barbara Gay was born November 9, 1942, in Chattaroy, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Foster and Anna Gertrude Harris Poplin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Charles Robert Claborn; her second husband Leroy Gallion; four brothers Delmas “Bud” Poplin, Rocky Poplin, Paul Poplin, Thomas Elwood Poplin; and one sister Patsy Walker.
Barbara Gay was a graduate of the former Wurtland High School and was a member of the Argillite Nazarene Church for over 50 years. She was very proud to be an American and supported the armed forces. She retired from the Kentucky Department of Parks as a chef and loved to share her cooking with her family and friends. Barbara Gay will be greatly missed.
Barbara Gay is survived by a daughter Oreatha (Sean) Murray of Ashland, Kentucky; three brothers David (Glenda) Poplin of Argillite, Kentucky, Darrell (Maria) Poplin of Greenup, Kentucky and Butch (Linda) Poplin of Catlettsburg, Kentucky; two grandchildren Connor Barber and McKenzie Barber; a special niece Sherri (Bill) Croston of Argillite, Kentucky and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Bro. Lloyd Baldridge. Burial will be in the Poynter Cemetery in Argillite, Kentucky.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm Mondayand one hour before the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be made atwww.rlrfuneralhome.com
