Boyd Adkins

Boyd R. Adkins, 97, of Lloyd, Kentucky, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, August 23, 2021, at Trinity Station in Flatwoods, Kentucky. Boyd was born February 6, 1924, in Load, Kentucky a son of the late John and Emily Vaughn Adkins. Boyd was a retired electrician and a member of the Greenup First Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his very loving wife Edith Brown Adkins; a son Ivan Wayne Adkins; a daughter Freda Adkins; five brothers Virgil Adkins, James Adkins, Leonard Adkins, Edward Adkins, and Ezra Adkins; four Barbara Adkins, Maratha Billups, Mabel Adkins, Hazel Baker and Faye Johnson.

He is survived by a son Dennis (Chris) Adkins of St. Louis, Missouri; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at the Johnson-Vaughn Cemetery in Load, Kentucky by Dr. Tom Melvin. Arrangements are under the direction of Reed Funeral Home in Greenup. Condolences may be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.
