Carissa Paige Hay

Carissa Paige Hay, 34, of Greenup, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 19, 2024, at University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. surrounded by her family who loved her dearly. Carissa was born December 31, 1989, in Ashland, Kentucky, a daughter of Gregory Clarence Hay and the late Diana Lynn Poplin Hay.

Carissa attended Greenup County High School from 2004-2008 and attended Freedom Worship Church in Greenup.  She was a phlebotomist at Primary Care in Ashland, Kentucky. She adored her children and cherished every moment spent with them, especially during Christmas. She made sure the holiday was magical and that her children had the most wonderful Christmases. She also had a love for travel, and her favorite trip was to Hawaii, a place that brought her unforgettable memories.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents Thomas and Edith Poplin and grandmother Anna Lee Hay.

In addition to her father, she is survived by her fiancé Josh Shope of Ashland, Kentucky; three sons Hunter Kelly of Ashland, Preston Sparks of Ashland, and Krew Riffe of Ironton, Ohio; one daughter Savannah Sparks of Ashland; and one sister Rachel Beatty of Chillicothe, Ohio; and nieces and nephews Allyson Beatty, Alexys Beatty, Forrest Beatty, River Beatty.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Pastor Kevin Whitt. Burial will be in Hay Cemetery in Argillite, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made towards the funeral expenses.
