Carla Jean Riley

Carla Jean Riley, 70, of Ironton, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, in Columbus, Ohio. Carla was born, May 4, 1954, in Worthington, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Carl and Mary Maxine Caldwell Fannin.

Carla attended the Church of the King in Ironton, Ohio. She enjoyed playing “Candy Crush” and watching the Lifetime Channel and Hallmark movies. She loved her family dearly and some of the best memories were from spending time with them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Dustin Gilliam; three brothers Jim Fannin, Tim Fannin, and Terry Fannin; two sisters Mary Carver and Gale Miller.

She is survived by her companion of 25 years Charles David Shope; a son Anthony Riley of Ironton, Ohio; a daughter Brandy (Troy) Shelton of Raceland, Kentucky; two sisters Sally (Greg) Chapman of South Point, Ohio and Becky (Arby) Rowe of Boyd County, Kentucky; thirteen grandchildren Kyle (Macie) Hall, Taylor Hall, Makayla (Austin) Hall, Alexis Stewart, Lexi Shelton, Brayden Stefanich, Anthony (Olivia) Riley, Kaleigh Riley, Amber Riley, Ethan Gilliam, Karlene Gilliam, Kloe Gilliam, Leeland Gilliam ; ten great-grandchildren Paisley Moore, Prestyn Hall, America Moore, Emmy Brown, Freya Riley, Anthony Riley III, Sawyer Riley, Addilynn Riley, Michael Rumschlag, and Carson Jackson; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00pm, Monday, August 12, 2024, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Pastor Tim French. Burial will be in the Fannin-Barber Cemetery in Wurtland, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11:00am until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Condolences may be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.com
