Carolyn Crum Blevins
Carolyn Crum Blevins, 67, of Argillite, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord, on January 3, 2023, in Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. She was born November 5, 1955, in Grayson, KY, a daughter of the late Jason and Sharlotte Gillum Crum.
In her professional life, Carolyn was a dedicated civil servant, serving for 37 years at the USDA Farm Service Agency working her way up from a filing clerk to the Executive Director for Greenup and Lewis Counties. She was known for her professionalism as well as her approachability, being able to talk to anyone. It was through this service and dedication Carolyn was named a Kentucky Colonel, the highest title of Honor bestowed by Kentucky’s Governor.
In her personal life, she was a lover of nature and the outdoors. She looked forward to Spring for nature in bloom and the return of her favorite activity: mowing grass. She also loved animals and enjoyed bird watching. She often would say that “Argillite is the heart of the world” because she was able to enjoy nature and wildlife at her own residence. She also enjoyed genealogy, antiques, and old-time westerns.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death; a brother, William Earl Crum; and a sister, Dolly Crum.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of fifty-one years Carl Lee Blevins of Argillite; a daughter Cara (Mathew) North of Groveport, Ohio; a brother Michael (Lisa) Crum of Argillite, and many nieces and nephews, one whom she was very close to Jacob Crum.
