Charles Vernon Daniels Jr.

Charles Vernon Daniels Jr., 78, of Greenup, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Charles was born August 25, 1945, in Ashland, Kentucky, a son of the late Charles Sr. and Mae Gillum Daniels. He was a member of First Assembly of God in Raceland, Kentucky where he served as a Deacon and board member. He also taught Sunday school, lead Royal Rangers, and co-led Boys Scouts at the church for many years. He was a dedicated Christian who truly loved God. Charles was a graduate of Russell High School and retired from Ashland Oil Refinery. He loved fishing and spending time in Florida with his wife Donna. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved his family and friends dearly and really enjoyed spending time with them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Donna Jean Daniels; one brother William Daniels; and one sister Dodie Trevor.

He is survived by three daughters Jodi Allen of Worthington, Kentucky, Tonya (Brian) VanHoose of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, and Shelly Wright of Independence, Missouri; one brother Frank (Brenda) Daniels of Flatwoods, Kentucky; two sisters Juanita Thompson of Summit, Kentucky and Carol Billips of Summit, Kentucky; four grandchildren Emma Baker, Isabella Baker, Blake VanHoose, and Audrey VanHoose; and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Pastor Chad Haggard. Burial will be in Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd, Kentucky.
