Claude Wright

Claude Wright, 92, of South Shore, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, February 6, 2025, at The Lantern at Morning Pointe Senior Living, Russell, Kentucky.

Claude was born December 12, 1932, in Garrison, Kentucky, a son of the late Coy and Eula Horsley Wright.


Claude was a 1950 graduate of Clay High School in Rubyville, Ohio and was a United States Korean Conflict Army Veteran.  Claude was retired from New Boston Coke Plant and was a member of the Harrison Fullerton Masonic Lodge #937. He was a member of the Allen Chapel Church of Christ and was owner/operator of Wright Brothers Auto Sales in South Shore, Kentucky.  Claude was involved in many things throughout his life. He loved buying, trading, and selling things. He was a recreational pilot for many years and loved socializing and talking with people. Claude will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Claude is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Adkins Wright; four brothers Melwood Wright, Tony Wright, Luther Wright, and Ronald Wright; two sisters Audrey Moulton and Betty Burns.


He is survived by a son Tony (Vicky) Wright of Nicholasville, Kentucky; two grandsons John (Jenni) Wright of Franklin, Tennessee and Justin (Michelle) Wright of Nicholasville, Ohio; two great-grandchildren Noah and Lily; a sister Hazel Adkins of Minford, Ohio a host of nieces and nephews.


Funeral service will be conducted at 12:00pm Friday, February 14, 2025, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Pastor Danny Bentley. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast. Military rites will be performed by American Legion Post #93 Kenova West Virginia. Visitation will be from 10:00am until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
