Debra "Debbie" Wells

Debra "Debbie" Wells, 68, of South Shore, Kentucky, entered into her eternal rest on Friday, August 16, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at the SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. Born on September 29, 1955, in York, Kentucky, to Arnold and Hazel Reed, Debbie graduated from McKell High School in 1973 and went on to pursue a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse, dedicating much of her professional life to serving others at Hempstead Manor in Portsmouth, Ohio. Debbie was more than just a dedicated nurse; she was a loving mother, a devout Christian, and a pillar in her community. She wore many hats throughout her life, including those of a Sunday School teacher, Youth Leader, and a committed volunteer in nursing home and jail ministries. Debbie's passion for service extended to various community outreach programs, where she touched countless lives with her compassion and faith. Most recently, she was a cherished member of Calvary Apostolic Lighthouse in Wurtland, Kentucky, under Pastor David Morrison, and actively volunteered in ministry at Vanceburg Apostolic Church in Vanceburg, Kentucky, under Pastor Keith Blankenbeckler. When not serving her family and community, Debbie found joy in quilting, reading, and traveling.

Debbie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lacy "Buck" Wells, Jr.; her parents, Arnold and Hazel Reed; and two brothers, Gary Reed and Arnold Reed, Jr.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through her children: Lacy "Buck" Wells, III of Raceland, Kentucky; Corey Reed Wells of Columbia, South Carolina; Michael Trey (Deanna) Glispie of New Boston, Ohio; Amy Hazel Wells of South Shore, Kentucky; and Faith Nicole Wells of Huntington, West Virginia. She is also survived by her sister, Sheila "Jeannie" (Daniel) Neal of Flatwoods, Kentucky, and her granddaughter, Lacey Glispie, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Debbie's presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service to celebrate Debbie's life will be held at 1:00 PM on August 25, 2024, at

Calvary Apostolic Lighthouse in Wurtland, Kentucky, with Pastor David Morrison officiating.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Reed

Cemetery in South Shore, Kentucky. Condolences may be expressed at www.rlrfuneralhome.com
