Dorothy Alene Charles

Dorothy Alene Charles, 86, of Greenup, Kentucky went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at her home. Dorothy was born March 10, 1936 in Greenup County, Kentucky a daughter of the late John Henry and Myrtie Blanton Daniels. Dorothy attended Living Waters Worship Center in Cannonsburg, Kentucky. Dorothy loved to cook. She was owner of the former Charles Drive-in in Lloyd for 10 years, she worked several years at the former G.C. Murphy's Ames Restaurant in Russell, and the Café in King's Daughters' Medical Center in Ashland. Dorothy loved to sew, crochet and embroidery. She was very loved by everyone who knew her and will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Burian Charles and a sister Genevie Walker. She is survived by a son Jonathan (Debra) Charles of Lloyd, Kentucky; four daughters Josetta "Jodie" Moore of Seabring, Florida, Rosanna "Rosie" (Gary) Caudill of Lloyd, Kentucky, Nikki Charles of Seabring, Florida, and Mary Sue (Brandon) Cowles of Gadsden, Alabama; two brothers Gerald (Marie) Daniels of Lloyd, Kentucky and Ronnie (Paula) Daniels of Wurtland, Kentucky; eleven grandchildren, Jonathon, Leighanna, Nathan, Tera, Stephanie, Sarah, Brian, Kent, Amanda, Lance, and Travis; 27 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and family who loved her dearly. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 pm, Monday, May 23, 2022, at Living Waters Worship Center in Cannonsburg, Kentucky by Pastor Tim French and Bro. J.R. Hampton. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East, Greenup, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm on Sunday at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky and one hour before the service on Monday at the church. Condolences may be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.com.
