Dorothy Forbes

Dorothy Lavaughn Forbes, 77, of Argillite, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 26, 2022, at King’s Daughters’ Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Dorothy was born July 23, 1944, in Argillite, Kentucky a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Carrie Lee Blevins Martin. She loved to garden and working in her flowers and plants. She loved to cook and spend time with her family and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Glen “Frankie” Forbes; one son Steven Mark Forbes; six brothers Roy Martin, Troy Martin, Ralph Martin, Gene Martin, Ed Martin, and Bobby Martin; and four sisters Phyllis Rose, Betty Asch, Lucy Johnson, and Ruth Rose.

She is survived by one son Barry (Kim) Forbes of Argillite, Kentucky; three daughters Lori (Brian) Baier of Argillite, Kentucky, Beth (J.R.) Clifton of Raceland, Kentucky, and Reva (Todd) Rutledge of Argillite, Kentucky; one sister Carrie “Dodie” Bradford of Grayson, Kentucky; one daughter in law Shari Sammons Forbes of Greenup, Kentucky eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Per Dorothy’s request a private graveside service will be conducted at Forbes Family Cemetery in Argillite, Kentucky. Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky is in charge of arrangements.
