Geneva Kay Belford

Geneva Kay Belford, 68, of York, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 17, 2021, Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Geneva was born August 31, 1952, in York, Kentucky a daughter of the late John Lewis and Eva Burton Howard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years Earl Eugene Belford and a sister- in-law Diana “Lou” Via.

Geneva worked in the Greenup County School System for 32 years where she was a school bus driver not only driving kids to and from school but also for most sporting events. She was a paraeducator for 25 years at Greenup County High School. She loved spending time and going shopping with her family but her favorite thing in life was spending time with her great-grandson Johnathon. Geneva will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughter Diana Bailey (Greg) Griffith of York, Kentucky; her sister Sue Duncan of Marion, Ohio; two brothers Jerry (Deb) Howard and Darrell Howard both of York, Kentucky; a granddaughter Whitney Griffith; a great-grandson Johnathan Griffith; three brothers-in-law Lloyd (Sherry) Belford, Kenneth (Trish) Belford and Ernie Via all of Greenup, Kentucky; two sisters-in-law Belinda (Paul) Ramsey of Greenup, Kentucky and Rhonda Abdon of Springhill, Florida; a host of nieces and nephews and family who loved her dearly.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Pastor Robbie Bond. Burial will be in the Jones Cemetery in York, Kentucky.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time on Tuesday.
