Howard Edward Holbrook
Howard Edward Holbrook, 81, of Greenup, Kentucky, passed away, Monday, October 21, 2024, at King’s Daughters’ Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Howard was born May 26, 1943, in Letitia, Kentucky, a son of the late Daniel and Alma Royal Holbrook.
Howard was a retired truck driver and was a United States Vietnam Army Veteran. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 4285, Portsmouth, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Roilene Wilcox Holbrook; one son Todd Holbrook; four sisters Olive Whitt, Nellie Cole, Minnie Billups, and Jewel Stone.
He is survived by three sons, John (Sue) Holbrook of Clarksville, Tennessee, Charles Holbrook of Portsmouth, Ohio, and David Holbrook of Load, Kentucky; one brother John David (Lois) Holbrook of Wheelersburg, Ohio; two sisters Pamela Whitt of Load, Kentucky and Lynnett (Howard) Sommers of South shore, Kentucky; two grandchildren Chris (Annessa) Holbrook and Yavona (Joe) Murray; six great-grandchildren, Christina, Caleb, Abigail, Gabriel, Kevin, and Olivia.
Graveside service will be conducted at 12:00pm, Friday, October 25, 2024, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East by Minister Bobby Thompson. Military rites will be performed by American Legion Post #93, Kenova, West Virginia. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday at the funeral home.
