Larry Joe Johnson

Larry Joe Johnson, 77, of Ashland, Kentucky went to be with the Lord Tuesday April 27, 2021 at University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Mr. Johnson was born May 21, 1943 in Boone County, West Virginia a son of James Willie and Myrtle Wheatly Johnson. He was a supervisor and pipefitter for CSX for over 30 years, a trustee and member of Hoods Creek Baptist Church, and was a 1961 graduate of Wurtland High School. He loved hunting, fishing, and traveling to Canada.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Sharon Kay Fraley Johnson of Ashland, Kentucky

One daughter Scarlett (Chris) Bailey of Lexington, Kentucky

Three brothers

James (Audrey) Johnson of Saul St. Marie, Michigan

Ken (Sylvia) Johnson of Lynn, Kentucky

Gerald (Doris) Johnson of Load, Kentucky

One grandchild Wynter Bailey

And a host of nieces and nephews and other family members who loved him dearly.

Funeral service will be conducted at Hoods Creek Baptist Church at 1:00 pm on Friday April 30, 2021 by Minister Kevin Fraley, Pastor Leo Ison, Bro. Steve Fraley. Burial will be in Fraley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time on Friday at the church.
