Larry "Paps" Boggs Sr.

Larry Gene “Paps” Boggs Sr., 81, of Lloyd, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born May 13, 1941, in Ashland, Kentucky a son of the late Omar and Florence Jane Fippin Boggs.

Larry was a 1959 graduate of Ashland High School and was retired from Armco Steel in Ashland. He was a member of the Greenup First United Methodist Church. Larry loved old classic cars. He was involved for many years in the area car shows. Larry loved God and his family. His family meant everything to him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers Greg Wilson, Bruce Boggs, Arnold Boggs, and Billy Boggs.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Janet Louise Bradley Boggs; two sons Larry (Tiffany) Boggs Jr. of Greenup, Kentucky and Duane Scott (Brittaney Yates) Boggs of Coal Grove, Ohio; a daughter Tamara (Michael) Murdoch of Ashland, Kentucky; a sister Debbie (Michael) Jackson of Millersburg, Kentucky; ten grandchildren Victoria “Tory” (Adam Hampton) Boggs, Elisabeth (Brandon) Carr, Ashley Boggs, Jason Page, Mason Page, Kaitlyn Boggs, Devin Boggs, Alexis Boggs, Skyla Boggs and Reese Boggs; one great-grandson Cooper Scott Carr; a host of nieces, nephews and friends who loved him dearly.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Dr. Deron Newman and Dr. Nancy Preston. Burial will be in the Ashland Cemetery, Ashland, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Condolences may be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.com
