Mary Ellen Earwood Hieneman

Mary Ellen Earwood Hieneman,85, of Greenup, Kentucky, joined her husband, Bill, in Heaven on Monday, February 15, 2021 at KDMC due to complications of COVID-19. Mrs. Hieneman was born in Greenup a daughter of the late William Clyde and Inez Blankenship Earwood. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother, James William “Jim Bill” Earwood.

Mary Ellen was a lifelong member of the Greenup Christian Church. She loved to quilt, needlepoint, cross stitch, and crochet. All her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were benefactors of her beautiful handiwork. Mary Ellen loved to travel, and is now traveling in Heaven with her husband, Bill, and her precious friends, Bud and Happy Pauley and Bill and Jo Ann Adkins. She loved following her grandchildren to all their events: dance recitals, baseball games, golf matches, swim meets, and anything that involved them. She just loved being with them.

She is survived by three sons Mike (Vicky) Hieneman, Tim (Paula) Hieneman, and Steve (Nancy) Hieneman; six grandchildren Andrea (Ryan) Plummer, Chad (Kourtney) Hieneman, Keith (Tai) Hieneman, Tyler (Amy) Hieneman, Trey (Amie) Hieneman, and Keri Hieneman; nine great grandchildren that she adored, Stella, Sloane, Emma Kate, Claire, Jack, Daisy, Sean, Avery, and Mallory.

Due to COVID-19, there will be a private service for the immediate family only. Burial will be at Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greenup Christian Church Building Fund. Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky is in charge of arrangements.
