Millard Jackson “Jack” Stith

Millard Jackson “Jack” Stith, 90, of Wurtland, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord, Friday, July 19, 2024, at King’s Daughters’ Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born February 11, 1934, in Russell, Kentucky, a son of the late Algie and Hattie Brooks Stith. Jack was a 1952 graduate of Russell High School and was a United States Navy Veteran. He was retired from AK Steel and he was a self-employed truck driver. Jack worked both jobs for many years. He was also a diesel mechanic. He was of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Lawanna Maggard Stith; a son Terry Jackson Stith; a grandson Chrisopher Stith; six sisters Loretta Stith, Judy Fitzpatrick, Dovetta Kouns, Ernestine Barker, Betty Crum. and Carol Allen; five brothers Chester Stith, Russ Stith, Ray Stith, Kenny Stith and John Litteral.

He is survived by a grandson whom he raised Shawn (Mary Ruggles) Stith of Greenup, Kentucky; five grandchildren Tami Hall of Warsaw, Virginia, Shane (Ashley) Burke of Russell, Kentucky, Dusty (Carl Maynard) Stith of Ironton, Ohio, Travis (Anna) Stith of Paris, Virginia and Ben (Shannon) Stith of Waraw, Virginia; fourteen great-grandchildren Jason, Britany, Johnanthan, Logan, Kayla, Angela Renee, Brandon, Porstia, Riley, Brittany, Blair, Aiden, Taylor, Conner, and Makayla; daughter in law Patricia Stith of Wurtland, Kentucky; nine great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Bro. Bill Oakes. Burial will be in Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd, Kentucky. Military Rites will be performed by American Legion Post #93 Kenova, West Virginia. Visitation will be from 11:00am until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
