Rodney Dale Hickey
Rodney Dale Hickey, 74, of Ashland, Kentucky went to be with the Lord, Saturday July 10, 2021, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky surrounded by his family. Mr. Hickey was born August 4, 1946, in Long Beach, California a son of the late Chester O. and Atlantis R. Munro Hickey. He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War and during Desert Storm retiring in 1995 as Captain for the Medical Service Corps. He was the director for Greenup, Carter, and Lewis County American Red Cross. He also worked for Red Cross-National Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Roger L. Hickey (Jan)
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Mary Evelyn Duncan Hickey

Tamara (Gary) Cann of Stafford, Virginia

John Edward (Tonya) Hickey of Issaquah, Washington
One brother
Gerry B. (Linda) Hickey of Virginia Beach, Virginia
Ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and family who loved him and will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday July 13, 2021, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Minister Johnny Riley. Ashes will be interned in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia at a later date. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
