Roger Lane Cox

Roger Lane Cox, 85, of Greenup, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Roger was born September 8, 1937, in Huntington, West Virginia, a son of the late Robert Clifton and Evelyn Jarrell Cox. He was of the Nazarene faith, a member of the B52 Association, and a member of the American Legion. He was a United States Air Force Vietnam War veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters Mickie Long, Joyce Phipps, Carolyn Jean Pruitt, and Sharon Rice; one brother Robert Cox Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Dorothy Lee Cook Cox; one daughter Krystal Anne (Dusty) Conley of Frankfort, Kentucky; one adopted daughter Kimberly Dawn Cox Ford of Lexington, Kentucky; one step-son James William Earl (Rena’) Moore of Union Town, Ohio; three step-daughters Tammy Lee (F.B.) Moore Kidd of Flatwoods, Kentucky, Malinda Rene’ Shannon of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, Stephanie Sue (Micah) Harper of Flatwoods, Kentucky; two half brothers Johnny (Kayla) Cox of Hallettsville, Texas and Mike (Nina) Popavich of Snowflake, Arizona; one half sister Eileen (Jim) Masters of Riverton, West Virginia; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup, Kentucky. Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky is in charge of arrangements.
