Talmage Ray Rose
Talmage Ray Rose, 82, of Argillite, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family who loved him dearly. Talmage was born March 30, 1942, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, a son of the late Talmage C. and Lillian Estill Bourne Rose. He was a retired machinist from National Mines in Wurtland, Kentucky, was a member of the Plum Grove Baptist Church in Greenup, Kentucky, and was a United States Navy Veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Ann Martin Rose and a grandson Devin Ray Rose.
He is survived by three daughters Deena (John) Howerton of Greenup, Kentucky, Rachelle Scott of Argillite, Kentucky and Lynette (Gary Conley) Newman of South Shore Kentucky; two brothers Roy (Frances) Rose and Gary Rose both of Spotsylvania, Virginia; one sister Polly Allen of King George, Virginia; four grandchildren Michael Devin Howerton, Austin Newman, Laney Scott, and Jarrett Cooper; very close family members Carrie and Clyde Bradford of Grayson, Kentucky, Eula Martin and Dottie Martin both of Argillite, Kentucky; a close friend and caregiver Michael Miller of Argillite; a host of nieces, nephews, and family who will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Pastor Mark Hutchinson. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East. Military rites will be preformed by American Legion Post #93, Kenova, West Virginia. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00pm, Monday and one hour before the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.com.
