Thomas Jackson




Thomas Jackson, 88, of Greenup, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord and his beautiful wife Sue, Sunday, December 19, 2021, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

Tom was born January 28, 1933, in Blevins, Kentucky a son of the late Willie and Farbia Wells Jackson.

He was a retired welder with Local 248. He was a member of the Argillite Church of the Nazarene and a United States Korean Conflict Army Veteran. Tom loved to restore and work on old cars. He loved telling stories about growing up. You never talked to him without hearing a story. He loved working outdoors, building onto homes that he lived in. He loved his family dearly. He had pastored and was very involved with many churches in the area. He preached many Revivals all over Tennessee, Ohio, West Virginia, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky. He loved the ministry so much he bought a VW bus to go up hollows to get kids and families for church. He even upgraded to a suburban bus then to a small school bus. He helped build a Nazarene church in Flemingsburg, Kentucky, and also, was a former caretaker of Mouth Hope Campground of the Nazarene.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Sue Ann Randsell Jackson; a grandson Justin Quintin Ashley Stewart; a brother Clifford Jackson; five sisters Sarah Young, Martha Estep, Ruby Estep Lula Row and Belva Jackson.

He is survived by one son Thomas Leon Jackson of Kennesaw, Georgia; two daughters Kozetta Ann (Jeffery “Smo”) Jackson Stewart of Catlettsburg, Kentucky and Jackie Jackson Childers of Greenup, Kentucky; one brother Bill (Carol) Jackson of Ashland, Kentucky; one sister Roma (Bill) Fisher of Mansfield, Ohio; four grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 pm, Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Bro. Lloyd Baldridge and Bro. Scott Hill. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, Greenup.

Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 Tuesday and one hour before the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
