Vera Alene Steelman

Vera Alene Steelman, 82, of Franklin Furnace, Ohio passed away, Friday, September 16, 2022, at River Run Nursing Home in Franklin Furnace, Ohio.

Vera was born January 24, 1940, in Mount Pleasant, Texas a daughter of the late Floyd and Rozzie Dyer Steelman.

She was a former Sectionizer at the Borden Citrus Plant in Florida.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Harvey Jordan and a great-granddaughter Calie Mae Whitt; three brothers Thomas Steelman, Marvin Steelman and Lloyd Lenard Steelman; three sisters Marlyn Collins, Rozzie Simmons and Evelyn Collins.

She is survived by a son Carl Jordan of Lakeland, Florida; four daughters Patricia (Pedro) Castillo of Warsaw, North Carolina, Martha Herring of Portsmouth, Ohio. Sara Bevan of Portsmouth, Ohio and Sylvia Thower of Maggie Valley, California; twelve grandchildren Brandon, Caedance, Jose, Sylvia, Julio, Shannon, Linda, Jackie, Steven, Barbara, Michael and Lollie; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

A private family memorial service will be held in honor of Vera.

Reed Funeral Home in Greenup have been entrusted with the arrangements.
