Virgil "Joe" Joseph Davis

Virgil “Joe” Joseph Davis, 71, of Argillite, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Mr. Davis was born May 4, 1951, in Grayson, Kentucky a son of the late Virgil L. and Myrtle Sammons Davis.

He attended various churches in the area and was a member of the local 1445 Catlettsburg, Kentucky. He was always helping people and involved with his family. He never met a stranger. He loved his family dearly, especially, his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Mary McCarty Davis; his second wife Phyllis Kouns Davis; one brother Ollie Davis; two sisters Lucille Barry and Allene Davis.

He is survived by two sons Shannon (Mandy) Davis of Olive Hill, Kentucky and Joey (Patty Wolfe) Davis of Argillite, Kentucky; one daughter Tina (Scott Durfee) Rice of Mansfield, Ohio; two sisters Faye (Jesse) Watts of Ashland, Kentucky and Beulah Oney of Ashland, Kentucky; five grandchildren Harley Joe Davis, Bre Davis, Robert Hickok, Randal Lucas, and Kelsie Lucas; and seven great grandchildren Austin, Ryley, Gage, Serenity, Brendon, Carter, and Delilah.
